Onto the 5th and 6th themes that I have in my DIY Guide!
First up today, we have the nautical (or beach) theme. Key points for executing this theme are below...
A nautical theme is great for any venue on the seaside, lakeside, riverside, or any other body of water! But it is also wonderful for any couple who has a particular affinity for nautical or beach related life.
Popular decor to nautical or beach themes include seashells, sands, anchors, ropes, boats, lobster traps, buoys, and sea glass.
Colors generally associated with these themes are blues, pinks, and whites as well as stripes, chevrons, and gingham. You can also pair these with a bold color for some pop.
You might see light/flowing dresses, more casual wear for "suits", a more semi-formal style for guests, and bare feet at a beach/nautical event. You also see lots of khaki and white at beach/nautical themed events.

A nautical/beach wedding that takes place at a venue by/on the water has the added bonus of natural decoration with very little need to do anything else extravagant (unless you want to)!
Second today is the nature (or natural) theme! Here are the key points to go along with it:
A nature/natural theme is unique, fun, and is one that could easily be combined with another theme.
Instead of using flowers, a nature/natural theme would use more greenery. Whether that is live or fake greenery they can be used as centerpieces, around the arbor for the ceremony, and in the bouquets/boutonnieres. You might also see more "wild" looking arrangements for this theme as an ode to nature.
A common use of this theme is in giving succulents as favors!
This theme would work well in conjunction with a rustic theme because of the earthier tones that you usually see in both.
With this theme I would suggest raw wood tables (no table cloths) but if you do use linens I would lean into the more earthy tones. Centerpieces could be raw wood rounds, lots of greenery, and simple candles.
Attire for a nature/natural theme would also be earthy tones to compliment the colors you choose for decor (not matching exactly). Style for attire I would classify as more bohemian.

Just like the rustic theme, I love the darker tones of the nature/natural theme! It really makes whatever lighter colors you have POP - especially that white dress if it applies to you or your partner ;)
Do you like either of these themes? Or maybe aspects of one or the other?
Happy Planning!!
