So, you think you need a coordinator? Let's see!

Hi! It's me. A wedding and event coordinator. If you haven't heard, I love my job. I love helping plan their big days and other big events. I love helping put smiles on other people's faces. I love the joy that doing all this brings me. The question is, do you really need me - or any planner/coordinator - on your team? Aside from making my day, I always want my clients to feel confident in hiring me. Like it will truly make their event process easier and take stress off their shoulders.
The big thing I want to say in this blog post is...no. At the end of the day you, your friends, and your family can most likely handle it! I have that confidence in you...and I probably don't even know you! BUT...a coordinator makes things easier. ESPECIALLY when it comes to a wedding!
That brings me to my next point. What you might not need is a coordinator to guide you through EVERY step of the process from beginning to end. What you absolutely DO need is a day-of or weekend-of coordinator. That means something different for different coordinators! For me that means we chat along the way through your process, maybe a few in person meetings, but the bulk of my work with clients as their day/weekend coordinator is done then...the day-of or the weekend-of. That includes coordinating timelines, checking in with vendors, decorating, and more!
The reason that I highly recommend this is because the weekend of your event - even the week leading up - the last thing you need is the stress of all the little details. (DISCLAIMER: You will still be stressed about the little details but at least you'll have me - or another coordinator - to assure you that there is nothing to worry about ;) ) I could tell you about some little things that haven't behind the scenes that my couples never found out about but I can't give away any trade secrets on how to deal with them.

Moral of the story, you do not necessarily NEED a coordinator for your entire planning process but I HIGHLY recommend outside help for your big day or your whole weekend. I also HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend at least a little guidance via a DIY guide along the way :) I also offer hourly help if you're interested in that!
As far as other events are concerned, it really depends on the intricacy of the event whether you need an extra set of eye, ears, and hands! The best thing to do is to reach out and ask!
