So you're planning a wedding! Do you think you're going to choose a theme? If the answer is no I'm going to tell you right now...a theme can be as simple as choosing a venue with a certain aesthetic then matching your linens and dresses, etc. to that!
For instance, you choose a barn for your wedding. You need little decor outside of the setting itself which helps your budget. You choose white linen for the tables and a forest green for napkins. Your centerpieces are simple mason jars full of babies breath and your bouquets/boutonnieres are babies breath and wild flowers. Your bridal party are in rustic colors but not the same color. Congratulations! Your theme is rustic!
See what I'm getting at here? You may unintentionally lean towards a particular theme when you start planning out all the little details of your big day - the little details are MY FAVORITE.
The following can contribute to your theme (obviously not all of these will apply to every wedding):
Venue
Bridal party attire colors
Bridal party attire style
Wedding dress style
Florals
Linen colors
Table overlays
Centerpieces (non-floral)
Beverage choices
Favors
The list goes on! Like I said, any small detail can contribute to the overall theme of your event. BUT you DO NOT need to choose a theme. I enjoy sharing about themes because I think it's so interesting how different each event I have worked is! Also the little similarities too!
Over the next three days I will share two different overall themes each day! That will include a few details that what make up that theme or how your event could be moving towards it.
I would love to hear if you had a theme for your big day! Or maybe you'll find this week that you actually had a theme when you didn't think you did!
Happy Planning :)
